First things first: I realize that in terms of what BADBADNOTGOOD is covering here — the beat, not the lyrics — this ridiculously ill take on “Hard in da Paint” should have Lex Luger’s name attributed to it. But it is technically Waka Flocka Flame’s song, so that’s why you see his name up there. In all fairness, though, Luger did make the track the monster that it is, even though Waka’s always-hype rapping propelled it into the stratosphere of parking lot brawls. OK, enough music nerd talk. The Toronto-based jazz trio recently performed at Redlight, a small music venue in their hometown. And while they were blowing minds with their post-bop takes on popular hip-hop joints, a photographer named Sean Berrigan was on hand with his camera for website Matt Goingham (hilar ....> The Post Continues Here! <--

It was certainly a lot of fun while it lasted, but Late Night With Jimmy Fallon‘s week-long tribute to Pink Floyd ended last night. It was quite the send-off, though, as Pearl Jam chose to cover “Mother” off the band’s 1979 album, The Wall. As you might expect, Eddie Vedder and company do the song justice, from its varied instrumentation and time signatures to the gripping vocals. The performance leaves us wondering when another seminal, forward-thinking outfit’s expansive catalog will be celebrated on late-night TV. Also, which band will it be? Zeppelin? Zappa? Beatles? Joker’s full-length debut, The Vision, has worked its way onto our most-anticipated albums list for 2011, if only because we’ve been waiting so long to hear a proper album for the British producer. We’re also looking forward to the record after hearing its singles thus far, including last week’s U.K. rapper posse cut “Back in the Days” with Buggsy, Shadz, Scarz, and Double. As it turns out, the newly revealed track listing indicates that Buggsy appears on two cuts on The Vision. Other vocalists on the album include Jessie Ware, Ginz, Silas, and Jay Wilcox. Joker also provided the cover art, which you can peep to the above left of this text. You can view the album’s track listing and the “Back in the Days” video below.
