A slew of hip-hop acts descended upon Atlanta this weekend for this year’s A3C Hip-Hop Festival. And without a doubt, one of the event’s must-see performers was Big K.R.I.T. The Meridian, Miss. native has gained so much momentum in the past two years while remaining true to the underground music he loves. He’s also caught the attention of some of the genre’s biggest acts, including T.I. who called on K.R.I.T. for a beat and hook on his first post-prison track, “I’m Flexin’.” All the while, K.R.I.T. has clearly been honing his skills as a performer, which is evident in the video below. Summer may have come to an abrupt, unofficial end, but outdoor festivals have shown no sign of letting up in NYC. Celebrating 12 years of Tim Sweeney’s live-mixed, special-guest-heavy weekly WNYU (89.1 FM) radio show, the Beats in Space 12th Anniversary Festival (scheduled for this Sunday, Sept. 25 from 12-9 p.m.) will showcase an eclectic assortment of electronic artists in a space in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Part of a new outdoor series called Beats 4 Eats, the event is sure to induce envy in beat lovers located outside the greater NYC area with its lineup: Matthew Dear, Juan Maclean, Metro Area, Rub-N-Tug, Hercules and Love Affair’s Kim Ann Foxman, DJ Nature, Blondes (live), and, of course, a set by Sweeney himself.
